Sherry Vine’s ” She’s Living For This”
Now Playing Exclusively on Here TV
HOW IT ALL BEGAN – 20 Years in the Making – Via Here TV
Well it all began 20 years ago in Los Angeles. I asked director Josh Rosenzweig to collaborate on a project. Sherry Vine was just being developed and I wanted to do a play- a theatrical piece as Sherry. So, I chose a one-woman show call Sorry Wrong Number and when we finished, Josh said to me that I was a modern-day drag version of Carol Burnett and that I should have my own variety show. And so it began.
Over the course of the next two decades, Josh and I worked together on plays, musicals, music videos, television shows and films. Two of the ‘featurettes’ we did together Scream Teen Scream and Charlie! played in film festivals around the world (including the Berlinale).
Some of the other highlights throughout the years were an original musical called Greeting From Venice Beach plays with our theater company Theatre Couture: ESP- Eyes of Supermodel Psychic, The Final Feast of Lucretzia Borgia, Charlie! (8 month run), Kitty Killer, Tell-Tale (Off- Broadway), Doll and the highly acclaimed stage version of Stephen King’s Carrie.
In addition we shot a pilot for MTV called “Asphalt Beach” with Jackie Beat and Mario Diaz.
And, all along the way the idea of the variety show was kept alive. And then last year, Josh said he thought he could get it produced at here! TV and with the help of General Manager, Eric Feldman, and a wonderfully tenacious and talented team of designers, editors and production folk. We started shooting in the Fall of 2011 and literally made my dream come true.
