FIERTH: What is your name?
E.J. : Edwin Davidson Brown JR. Aka EJ Aviance
FIERTH: Do you have a nick-name?
E.J. : EJ E=Edwin and J=Junior
FIERTH: Where are you based, where do you call home?
E.J. : I’m based in Atlanta, GA. and Atlanta is my home.
FIERTH: How tall are you?
E.J. : Six feet three inches tall
FIERTH: What is your motto?
E.J. : Live, Life and LOVEJ!
FIERTH: How do you describe your work?
E.J. : I am a multidimensional, multimedia, visual performance artist. Singer, Songwriter,
Designer and Fashionista!
FIERTH: What about your work ( or process ) frustrates you?
E.J. : Nothing really frustrates me. I can get artistically challenged if people don’t see my vision as I do, but never aggravated or frustrated.
FIERTH: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
E.J. : My album, “I AM ART”, and the fact that Mother Juan and the House Of Aviance did EVERYTHING to make the album an amazing product.
FIERTH: What do you like most about what you do?
E.J. : The ability to create ART anywhere I am booked or performing and it always being a new form of expression. Even something recycled or revamped, I put a whole new twist on it.
FIERTH: How do you keep it real?
E.J. : By always staying true to form, true to the dedication of being an artist.
FIERTH: What is the secret to success?
E.J. : Stay positive and always have good intentions. A good manager and knowing or meeting the RIGHT people to have a positive impact on your life.
FIERTH: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
E.J. : Love to learn to drive a semi rig or 16-wheeler.
FIERTH: What exactly are you wearing right now?
E.J. : Riding pants, black Christian Audiger rhinestoned shirt, 2xist jock strap, (no shoes)
FIERTH: What motivates you in life?
E.J. : Fashion, hair, different designers, (milliners, cobblers, coutiere’s), musical talents… basically art of all caliber!
FIERTH: If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what do you think you would be doing?
E.J. : Somewhere working 9-5, behind a desk, not happy and wondering where to eat lunch locally, that’s good and cheap… LOL!
FIERTH: Have you ever felt hopeless? How did you get through it?
E.J. : I got in some trouble a few years ago and felt pretty down. I soul searched and asked the Almighty to guide me through. Since I don’t ever revisit that place. When you think its bad, someone else’s situation is always worse.
FIERTH: If someone wrote a biography on your life, what do you think the title should be?
E.J. : “The Lying, The Bitch, and Her Wardrobe”
FIERTH: How would your best friend describe you?
E.J. : A true friend, through thick and thin, a great cook with a funny sense of humor.
FIERTH: What are some qualities you value in your friends?
E.J. : Honesty, loyalty, sense of humor, and artistic integrity.
FIERTH: List 5 quirky things about yourself.
E.J. : hairstyle, eyebrows, style of dress (girl or guy) and a twist of my tongue with my voice being choice of weapon.
FIERTH: What were you like as a child?
E.J. : I’m not sure you’d have to ask my peers and family.
FIERTH: Where did you grow up?
E.J. : Charlottesville, Virginia
FIERTH: What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
E.J. : Steal money to go buy Barbie dolls… LOL! (For real)
FIERTH: My generation was …
E.J. : The Forefathers of Generation X.
FIERTH: The kids today …
E.J. : Have no understanding of respecting their elders.
FIERTH: What makes you angry?
E.J. : People who say that they HATE something…
FIERTH: What brings you the most joy?
E.J. : Seeing people enjoy my music, performances or some form of ART that I’m expressing.
FIERTH: Write a brief story about an actual accidental adventure you’ve had.
E.J. : Once I met a young man through a friend and we dropped that friend off at home. After dropping that friend off, the guy asked if I would ride with him somewhere. I agreed and woke up in Miami. Needless to say we’ve been together 6 ½ years to date. (Smile)
FIERTH: What’s the strangest thing you’ve done this month?
E.J. : I’m pretty strange to the average inside the box kinda person…so…not sure how to answer that. I wore two Peacock feathers as lashes at a party and told everyone that night that I was LASHING OUT! LOL!
FIERTH: What’s something about yourself that no one knows?
E.J. : That as artistic, crazy, (often) loud, and passionate as I am about my work, the Edwin me is just quiet, reserved, and pretty simple in my way of life.
FIERTH: Ever had a rumor spread about you?
E.J. : Always! LOL. When there’s not one I’m concerned.
FIERTH: Describe a time when you made the best of a public gaffe.
E.J. : Fell off a stage once while performing Ultra Nate’s “found a cure”. At the chorus she say’s “feels like I’m going crazy”, I misjudged my distance and fell. So after I got back up, every time she said the chorus, I initiated another fall (painful performance)… LOL! But at the end people were saying that performance was amazing. Your falls look so real!!
FIERTH: What is the worst advice you have ever gotten?
E.J. : To not follow my dreams and conform.
FIERTH: Are you a morning or night person?
E.J. : Definitely Nocturnal.
FIERTH: What were you doing last night at Midnight?
E.J. : Opening emails, facebooking, twittering pictures of a new Afro wig and listening to Vjuan Allure and B Ames on Soundcloud.
FIERTH: What do you daydream about?
E.J. : The amount of Visas that will be stamped on my passport in the next two years.
FIERTH: What do you think is the meaning of life?
E.J. : That we are ALL Gods creatures. We all have a right to be here and we all have to help each other. Leave an imprint on the world, so that your presence is not noticed, but your absence felt!
FIERTH: What is your beauty secret?
E.J. : Shea Butter…TRUST!
FIERTH: What would be the introduction song to a movie based on your life?
E.J. : Bullet Proof Soul by Sade

E.J. : Yes. Music!

E.J. : Thierry Mugler and everything he has ever done… Past and Present!
FIERTH: What’s the weirdest item you’ve ever mourned losing?
E.J. : A pair of silicone breast that a friend employed at a mastectomy clinic had given me.
FIERTH: What is your greatest extravagance?
E.J. : The House of Aviance ®
FIERTH: What is your guilty pleasure?
E.J. : Baskin and Robbins Pralines and Cream!
FIERTH: If you could buy anything regardless of cost, what would you buy?
E.J. : An island somewhere near Dubai, Saudi Arabia.

E.J. : Safety? What’s that mean?
FIERTH: You can trade places with any other person, living or dead, for 24 hours. Who would you choose and why?
E.J. : Naomi Campbell. One to be a girl for 24 hours (that’s all I’ve ever wanted) she is the epitome of a Nubian black woman, The Real Supermodel of the World, and all men are driven to her beauty.
FIERTH: Who are your main inspirations?
E.J. : Eleanor Roosevelt, Mahatma Ghandi, Beyonce, Grace Jones, Annie Lenox, Bjork.
FIERTH: Who do you have your eye on right now?
E.J. : Marquese “NonStop” Scott
FIERTH: Which stars, if any, leave you star struck?
E.J. : Tina Turner who told me to close my mouth and Angela Basset
FIERTH: Whom do you despise?
E.J. : Anyone who despises other people.
FIERTH: Which celebrity do you suspect is actually a hologram?
E.J. : Cher
FIERTH: What’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for you?
E.J. : Someone gave me a buddy pass to fly anywhere I wanted.
FIERTH: Do you believe in karma? (If so, how have you seen it )
E.J. : The Universe takes care of itself. People, who say Karma is a bitch, are still experiencing the rights to their wrongs. Karma is not a bitch; she is what’s intended to happen. I try to live my life right. When I do something wrong, my karma is instant kinda like grits… LOL!
FIERTH: Which places have you traveled to that you feel had changed your perspective of the world?
E.J. : London. Paris. Minneapolis, MN.
FIERTH: Which causes do you believe in the most in, and why?
E.J. : Humanitarianism. We are all humans and deserve the best in life. The best things in life are free, but you have to pay attention. Too many want for themselves. Help the man next to you. That’s how you receive your blessings!
FIERTH: What is the funniest joke you have ever heard?
E.J. : Three prostitutes are walking down the street, side by side. What do you call the two prostitutes on the outside of the one in the middle?
E.J. : Support Hoes.
FIERTH: If you could choose a superhero power, What would it be, And how would you use it.
Invisibility, Ability to Fly, Super Strength, Read Peoples Mind’s, Elasticity, Super Stamina
E.J. : Ability to Change form: Sort of like Mystique on the X-men. To transform into Espionage roles and CIA and all that top secret stuff.
