Who else but Jackie Beat can take a camp classic film like “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?” and take it to even higher levels of lunacy and laughter? Based on the legendary Robert Aldrich directed 1962 gothic kitsch cult favorite, “Whatever Happened To Busty Jane?” is an outrageously hilarious and definitely ‘un p.c.’ re-imagining.

Ms. Beat plays washed up porn queen Busty Jane Hardon, an enormous breasted exaggeration of Bette Davis’s iconic Baby Jane. The role of her wheelchair bound brother Branch (‘the original power bottom’) is assayed by Mario Diaz, in a pitch perfect mockery of Joan Crawford as Blanche Hudson. The show, which originated in Los Angeles, twisted all the most memorable scenes and from the original lines – from Bette Davis’ horrifically painted face to the disgusting lunch served on a silver platter to the nosy neighbor- in the most enjoyably vulgar way.

Directed by Drew Droege .”Whatever Happened to Busty Jane?” starred  Jackie Beat as Busty Jane, Mario Diaz (Tell-Tale at The Cherry Lane Theater) as Branch, Sam Pancake (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Kitchen Confidential, Lovespring International) as the flamer next door, feisty Selene Luna (Margaret Cho’s The Sensuous Woman, The Cho Show) as Busty’s would-be manager, and YouTube sensation Nadya Ginsburg (” Al Roker Face”) as the sassy Latina maid. Busty Jane was brought to New York by SpinCycle NYC http://spincyclenyc.com

The Limited engagement ended May 22nd.
