http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heather_Leigh_West Early life and education Born into a theater family in New York City, West was always surrounded by creative talent. A graduate of Manhattan's La Guardia High School of Music and the Arts - Vocal Department, she developed her style as a member of the school's Gospel Choir. [edit]Career West has written and recorded songs for herself as well as other artists of many genres including: Soul, R&B, Funk, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Dance and House. West's commercial debut came as the featured vocalist, credited under the moniker "She," on the 1995 Urban Discharge release Drop a House. The release peaked at number twenty-one, spending eleven weeks on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart and secured its place as a legendary club anthem. Despite the song's huge club success, Drop a House was unable to cross over to the airplay charts because it contained lyrics that were at the time considered explicit. Not credited by name, and later incorrectly credited as someone else on a subsequent vocal version, West would spend the next decade working to prove who "She" was.[citation needed] [edit]Further releases In 2000, West teamed up with Eddie X for the release of Vibe the Underground. The project was later featured on The Circuit Party Volume 1 compilation. In association with German music producer Da Hool in late 2003, West wrote and recorded Set the Stakes High for Germany's Kosmo Records. The single's early success in Europe led to its inclusion on numerous compilations worldwide. Soon after, Set the Stakes High saw its domestic debut on the American dance label Robbins Entertainment in 2004 where the release climbed to number twenty-one on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales Chart. In 2004, West was asked to take part in a project with FIGJAM Records to benefit the ACLU Foundation’s Lesbian & Gay Rights and AIDS Projects. The album, a double-disc set titled Marry Me, with individual discs dubbed Ceremony and Reception, included West's single Eres Tu, produced by the Bodega Boys. Marry Me, which also included, among others, music by RuPaul and Ari Gold, was celebrated on November 16, 2004 at a record release gala held at XL in New York's Chelsea neighborhood.[1] In 2005, West partnered with New York based producer DJ Dove for her next single, Lift Me. The track, written by West, was released on Catch 22 Recordings and featured additional mixes by DJ Disciple. Though still nurturing her career in dance music, West made a departure of sorts from the genre when she began work on her first full length record in late 2005 with New York based music producer Valentino LaRosa. The album, a marriage of organic instruments, the synthetic sounds familiar to her dance music fans, is perhaps best described as Alternative/Soul. Appropriately titled, One (Valentino's Heather) the records name not only marks the first of many to come, but more importantly is a reference to unity. Forever striving to do something different from what she has before, West decided to reproduce the same material with a more laid back musical vibe to create a double release with One Extra Chilled - HLW On the Rocks. The album is currently available for preview as digital release on iTunes and is planned for official release on CD later in the year. West released a darkly artistic music video for the albums first single Fall Away. The video is available to view on the popular video sharing website, YouTube. In late 2007 West returned the studio with music producer DJ Dove to record a new dance single, Closer, co-written by West and fellow songwriters. The much anticipated single will be her first commercially available dance release since 2005. A big room house anthem, Closer beckoning all to "venga mas cerca (Come closer)," was released digitally through beatport.com on October 26, 2008. HELLO FIERTH-NICITY!!!!!
HAPPY NEW DECADE! HAPPY NEW EVERYTHING!!!!!
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season & that you all feel PUMPED UP to make this New Year/New Decade  MORE AMAZING THAN ANY YOU’VE HAD THUS FAR!

SO GET HYPED!!!!! GET EXCITED & DECIDE TO CREATE A PHENOMENAL LIFE FOR YOURSELF… PUT THAT GOOD ENERGY INTO THE UNIVERSE & YOU WILL BE AMAZED & IMPRESSED THAT THE UNIVERSE RESPONDS POSITIVELY TO YOUR DESIRES AND INTENTIONS… I SPEAK THE TRUTH MY LOVES!!!!! SO THIS IS ME JUMPING UP & DOWN – SENDING YOU LOVE & GOOD ENERGY FOR YOU TO UTILIZE IN PUTTING YOUR PSYCHIC WISH LIST OUT INTO THE WORLD… YOU DESERVE A WONDERFUL LIFE – SO EXPECT ONE! XOXOXOXOXO
OK – Well as those of you who read the 1st issue of Fierth know, I had the tremendous pleasure of spending the holidays in Europe! OMG!!!!! HOW INCREDIBLE!
I had blast after blast after blast… IT WAS ALMOST CRIMINAL HOW MUCH FUN I HAD!!!!! (THANKS FOR THE AMAZING TRIP MOM & THANKS FOR THE DELIGHTFUL STAY CHRIS/ANITA/SEBASTIAAN & IRIS!)

It was a family excursion, as my brother Chris lives in Amsterdam with his wife Anita & 2 precious kids, Sebastiaan & Iris (my mini me!). So Mom & I went there on Dec 23rd.  We started in Amsterdam, then went to Groningen (Also in the Netherlands, about 2.5 hours out) to spend Christmas with my Sister-In-Law’s family. It snowed almost everywhere we went so it was most definitely a white Christmas.
I, unlike many other travelers, am not a museum girl… I am an energy girl, so for me – my favorite thing to do when I’maway is to wAnder around… to vibe the actual place I am in… I like to window shop – to get lost & then find my way back… things like this invigorate my soul – this is how I get to feel what the natural state of where I am really is… Of course in Amsterdam, I love to go to the coffee shops (get to know me – lol – advocate!) and partake with a nice cappuccino – while I sit back & observe & write… this is actually one of my very favorite things to do… (***remember I’m an artist – so we are natural observers).
Groningen was wonderful! Peaceful! (Europe has such ornate buildings, every view is Gorg!!!!)  Mom & I stayed at my Sis-In-Law’s sister Marietta’s 4 story apartment in an old school building, which was SO COOL! It is a landmark but was converted into many large apartments. The 1st & 2nd floors have bookcases in the walls that go up the full 2 floors. The way they broke it down was incredible with an open 2nd floor… so the bookcases & windows also flow all the way up the full 2 floors, truly breath-taking…
The hallways outside of the apartment are of course HUGE school hallways – it completely takes you to that kid feeling – and you can imagine the tons of kids pouring through the halls way back (The Netherlands is OLD!!!!! Way more history than baby USA)… I love that feeling of ages past… I can’t even describe the feeling but its deep…
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!
We stayed on the top floor which was made into the cutest suite – mini kitchen – office – bathroom (I love that in a lot of European homes the shower is open in the room & there is just a drain in the floor…so the room is essentially the shower… For some reason I love this design) – additionally there is a beautiful outdoor roof deck with a beautiful view to the starry sky – and couches & lounge-y things — so cute! It was just delicious and comfy! I may go back & shoot a video there – I did ask because it is THAT’S FIERTH!!!!!
At any rate – THANK YOU MARIETTA & BERT FOR THE LOVELY TIME WE HAD STAYING WITH YOU – IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL START TO A WONDERFUL VACATION!!!!!
Christmas was sweet as well ~and then it was back to Amsterdam on the 26th for some more good ‘ol Amsterdam time… since my brother lives there I feel quite at home there & its easy for me to do non-vacation type things & spend really great family time especially with my niece & nephew… be still my heart!!!!!
We went to Paris for New Years!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
I had never been to Paris & I was extra excited because I got to see one of my absolute favorite people – the one & only Mecca Revlon (son of the legendary Willi Ninja) who is now happily married – living there & modeling… he recently added tattoo artist to his long list of skills/talents – I got to spend some great time with Mecca & his hubby Alexandre Dieval both on NYE & NYD… They are working on some amazing new music so I of course HAD to lie down some vocals for them to play with (which is always fun!)…  How could I not?!  & I also was given a tatt – I’m a big fan of ink – especially when there is a significant time or passing of time…
I (like most of us, I believe) had a very trying past few years – many blessings yes but also plenty of bumps in the road… I also quit smoking (I hit one year on January 20th!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!
So *getting back to the tattoo I got*
– after losing my Step-Father last March (God Bless you Fred! xo)  – having to clean house of a bunch of “friends” that had to go (God Bless them but they had to go) – a couple legal drama’s – successfully quitting cigs – getting healthy – meeting & falling for the love of my life –  BEING IN PARIS OF ALL PLACES FOR NEW YEARS AND BEING WITH MY SOUL BROTHER MECCA – WHO
NOW TATT’S PEOPLE – IT SEEMED LIKE THE PERFECT TIME TO CAPTURE…(GET INK)
SIGNIFICANCE:
ON THE 1ST DAY OF OUR NEW DECADE – IN PARIS – BY MECCA…
For me when I get a tatt it has to be the right time as well as the right thing & I almost never know what I am getting until right before hand – its very “meant to be” –
… This time was no different as I decided to ask Mecca on NYE if he would & he said yes – The appropriate thing to get seemed clear – that it was time that I put “Love” DIRECTLY ON myself –  literally! I mean come on:
TO HAVE SOMEONE I LOVE (MECCA) PUT “LOVE” ON ME – IN THE CITY OF LOVE – WHEN I WISH TO EMBODY LOVE – SPREAD & CHERISH LOVE – ETC… ON 01/01/10 – IT COULDN’T HAVE UNFOLDED ANY MORE PERFECTLY…

Mecca & Heather

So Mecca added the beautiful word “Love” to my logo tatt (stars & heather/feather wings) and made that my Paris keepsake… YAY!
I met up with Mecca & Alex at Notre Dame – which is fabulous in & of itself – its packed with people & artists doing sketches of various views – people – etc… DELICIOUS!!!!!
While I was on my way walking over there (of course I had my cute little look pulled together – I was in Paris after-all) this man walking towards me leaned in to say “C’est Magnifique!” which obviously became my new favorite pharse… LOL – C’EST MAGNIFIQUE!!!!! ***IT REALLY DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!***
The only thing that could have made it better would have been that MY love (I call him DB) could have been there with me – We did speak every day though – DB was busy taking care of business as he is a complete mogul in the making… (can’t be mad at that!) & truly loving him as I do, I support him in his goals & dreams just he does mine – his future is my future & vice-versa) – CONTINUE READING CLICK “MORE” BELOW
The most romantic things was this: My DB has always wanted to go to Paris & he’s in Real Estate so he loves architecture & he’s always wanted to go see The Eiffel Tower…
While we were in Paris the family took a trip there   – it was snowing & freezing – but still completely packed & exciting!
When we were on the observation deck – there are no words to describe how incredible the views are… My Mom noticed this wall of ads that people seemed to write all over – and she wanted to write something.  Luckily I happened to have a sharpie in my bag so she tagged (lol) as did everyone in the family while I found the perfect spot  for mine. Right in front of where I was standing in white letters were written the words “love” – “fate” & then “xoxo” with just the perfect amount of space in between for me to put my “tag” – of course I couldn’t resist  – I drew a heart & wrote our names inside – I took a picture of it & sent it to him stating that when we go to Paris together we’ll have to see if its still there … which he thought was the most romantic thing ever.. tee-hee fun fun fun!!!!!*** To those of you who are not currently in love – Please stay open to it – I seriously didn’t think I would ever find it – and just like they say happens – it found me… It has enriched my life so extremely in such a short time that I have to say – DON’T EVER GIVE UP FAITH THAT WHAT IS DIVINELY YOURS CAN & WILL FIND ITS WAY TO YOU… NO MATTER HOW IMPOSSIBLE IT MAY SEEM… TAKE IT FROM ME – IT IS POSSIBLE!!!!!
*** For those of you who are in love – cherish every smile that having love brings to your face, to your heart & to your soul – IT IS A COMPLETE & UTTER BLESSING THAT YOU GET TO ENJOY LOVE… (*By the way – my DB & I were together on the phone for both my NYE midnight in Paris & his in the States – so so romantic)
Speaking of LOVE I had a wonderful afternoon with my Mom our last day in Paris – we walked the Champs Elysees & went to have a light lunch & coffee at our final cafe in Paris… It was so sweet – we laughed – we cried – we bonded yet again – I so cherish my Mom – she is everything to me… and I know how very lucky I am to have such a good relationship with my mother, not everyone has that… another blessing!
OK – so Paris – AMAZING – DELIGHTFUL – C’EST MAGNIFIQUE…!
I LOVE YOU MECCA AND ALEX – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY TIME THERE SO MUCH MORE DELICIOUS!!!!! J’ADORE!!!!!
Next, with my new tattoo raw & healing – it was back to Amsterdam – for the last little bit of our vacation – I stayed at my good friend Raymond’s place (Thanks for a great time Raymond! Love you!) near Central train station – he lived in the Red Light District – which is always surreal to see… Right outside his window (down a few floors) was a place with the windows outlined in neon red lights with a chair in the window… Just a whole other side of life…
The next a.m. (which was my bro’s bday) I ran to Germany (2 hours each way) for literally 3 hours to record some more music with Da Hool (known for “Meet me at the Love Parade”) Da Hool & I did “Set The Stakes High” in 2004 & its past time for us to do some more music – hence our new works which are forthcoming – I’ll let you know when they’ll be coming out… xoxoxoxoxo What a crazy quick trip that was!  It was almost like a dream – he picked me up at the train – we ran to the studio – recorded for 3 hours & then back to the train I went – back to Amsterdam & then out for my brother’s birthday dinner – as well as our final dinner in Amsterdam… PHEW! NEVER BORING!
Safely back in NY – it took me a bit to get through the jet-lag & re-adjust to the time difference…
A completely delicious & perfect bunch of adventures to close out 2009 & the past decade ~ and to ring in the future which I see as very bright & exciting…
This does not mean I am not devastated by all the heartbreaking things going on in Haiti & around the globe – here in the U.S. too … However there will always be tragic things happening – that is sadly a guarantee – we all know LIFE IS SHORT – so we have to stay in as much positive energy as we can so the energy that we are pulling in is positive…
We REALLY DO MANIFEST WHAT WE FOCUS ON – so if you focus on the CRAP in your life – that’s what will continue to be at your door…
This is why I say always spread love – spread hope – spread happiness – it makes your heart & your experience amazing – AND YOU MANIFEST MORE OF THE SAME…
Take it from me – you see how happy I am… how much love I am constantly blessed with? ITS NO ACCIDENT! ;o)
PHEW!!! It wasn’t always like that – I had to work at it… so GET HAPPY! ENJOY THE TIME YOU HAVE & BE KIND – IT MAKES: YOUR LIFE BETTER – THOSE AROUND YOU HAVE A BETTER LIFE – AND THEN THEY IN TURN MAKE OTHERS LIVES BETTER – AND SO ON…. THE RIPPLE EFFECT IN A GOOD WAY…
Hope you didn’t mind my recap – I just wanted to share in a nutshell with you my holiday adventures…xo
In light of wanting to spread joy & happiness – laughter falls into that category… with that in mind the person I want to highlight this month is Sam Phillips, a BFF of mine from way back in Jr. High!!!!! She is one to know about!
Sam has been a talk-show host, producer, actress, reality TV host, radio DJ, high-fashion model, a Penthouse Pet, and a spokes-model. She’s always loved to talk & always had tons to say – always funny… She turned all these qualities into a radio show which she produced on L.A.’s Talk Radio Station 97.1 for 10 years!
http://thesingleliferadioshow.com/
“The Single Life with Sam Phillips,” Sam brings her celebrity friends into the studio to talk about sex, dating and relationships in a way that’s shockingly funny, you have to laugh!  Sammy is a hilarious, very blunt girl & as a re-located Brooklyn NY’er who living in L.A. her accent is unmistakable! Such a character! I wanted to share her with you – as we all deserve a good laugh once in a while… its good for you! Please find out about her! You’ll be glad you did!!!!! And let others know about her! SPREAD THE LOVE! XO
